Introduction

eBay is one of the most well-known online marketplaces available today. But it's also a relentless source of unwanted emails. Search for an item once and prepare to be bombarded. eBay sends emails about offers, discounts, bids, delivery and tracking information - and that's just the beginning. Between constant notifications and promotional messages, your inbox can spiral out of control faster than you'd expect.
If you're looking to take back control, this guide covers three methods for stopping eBay emails: unsubscribing, adjusting your account settings, and blocking them altogether.

Unsubscribe From Ebay Emails

You can unsubscribe from eBay emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any eBay email. Keep in mind, this will only unsubscribe you from their marketing emails. You'll still receive administrative or transaction-related emails.

For more control over what eBay sends you, the next section covers how to update your email preferences directly from your account settings.

When you read the privacy FAQs about Monster, you notice that (luckily) they won't sell or share your email and other information without your consent. Although (unfortunately) at the time of this writing, if you respond to an ad, publicly post, or sign up for their partner offers, you give consent on the spot.
Also note, their database of resumes has your email information for employers to check out. So basically anyone posing as an employer can get to the full list of given email addresses. What this all amounts to is quite a list of people that are well within reach of your Gmail address in order to load it with whatever they felt like sending you.

WhatsApp is a well known messaging app for many different platforms. Although it's a very popular app with many users, the downside is that users can end up with spam in their Gmail in the form of scam emails and/or phishing attempts. WhatsApp doesn't typically send out emails without you contacting them first, so you should be cautious if you receive one that looks like it's from them. Though scammers will try their best to send you fake emails that look like it's official communication from WhatsApp. If you're careful, you'll hopefully be able to tell the difference between a legitimate email from WhatsApp and a phishing email, but it's not always that easy.
Yes, there's a lot to it and more often than not, the scam/spam email will infect your system one way or another.

Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the "Install" button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won't take long. Open Gmail when it is done.

After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email scam, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.

How do I Block Spam Emails from WhatsApp

OkCupid is a well known free dating site. The spam starts with them sending you an email telling you that "you're hot". Then they send you an email telling you that you've been added to the "most attractive" list of members. It certainly doesn't stop there since the owner of OkCupid also owns various other popular websites. So your email address can float pretty far and wide. As a result, your Gmail account receives a flood of spam from all over the place.
To help prevent these emails from getting to your inbox, follow these instructions:

Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the "Install" button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won't take long. Open Gmail when it is done.

After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from OkCupid, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.

Select the "Emails from this sender" option.

It may be possible to unsubscribe from these emails from within your OkCupid account. But given that your email is shared with other websites, and given how aggressive their email campaigns are, this may not actually help, but it's worth trying out.

How to Block an Email from OkCupid

First, you have to identify emails from the App Store and problem emails from fake senders attempting to gain access to your account. Basically, Apple will never ask for personal information or account information. They don't have to and never did without directing you to a real Apple website. Apple would never send you an email with a link that does not bring you to the real Apple websites.
If you do receive one of these scam emails, be sure to report it to Apple here: reportphishing@apple.com. For more info on protecting yourself from these kinds of phishing scams, check out this article from Apple.
These scam can be tricky to spot sometimes because of the great lengths scammers and "phishers" go to in hopes of gaining information about you. For the most part, anything needing to be done concerning your account can be done in the iTunes application. Here is how to block them from your email account:

Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the “Install” button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won’t take long. Open Gmail when it is done.

After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted scam email, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.

Select the "Emails from this sender" option.

If you're certain that the website that sent you this email is all one big scam, then it might be best to just block the entire domain to avoid getting any more emails from any sender on that site.

How to Block Fake/Scam Emails from the App Store

Attempts to gain personal information from you by pretending to be from a legitimate source are known as phishing scams. In the case of Amazon, it's actually pretty common for someone to try and send you a fake email that pretends to be from Amazon.
An example of this is when an email tells you about a purchase you didn’t actually make, which tries to get you to click on their links and enter your credentials in a fake Amazon login page.
Other examples include requests to update payment information or requests for any kind for personal information and/or login information. Chances are, it’s a fake/scam if the “from” line in the header doesn’t contain “@amazon.com”. Do note that you should also report such fake emails before you block them.
While there are a lot of Amazon scams out there, Amazon itself does send quite a few emails to your account as well, like product alerts or other advertisements. If you want these to stop, then it's best to unsubscribe using the settings in your Amazon account, but if for any reason that doesn't work for you then you can also try out these instructions:

Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the “Install” button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won’t take long. Open Gmail when it is done.

After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from Amazon, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.

Select the "Emails from this sender" option.

Once this is done, you will no longer receive emails from that Amazon email account. If you ever decide you want to start receiving their emails again you can simply unblock the email.
And since Amazon does send legitimate emails as well, you may want to try a different approach and instead block their ad/offer/alert emails using phrase blocking. This would then allow you to receive their legitimate emails as well, if done correctly.
